Explore the Pekmarkt flea market – which has a different theme every day of the week – and browse through goods ranging from textiles to fresh local produce. Amble through the historic Nieuwendammerdijk, a quaint urban village that was once a late medieval settlement, and stop off at Pllek – a post-industrial local hangout near the IJ waterfront housed in old storage containers. And if you still have a minute to spare? Gawk at Crane Hotel – a quirky B&B set inside a former harbor crane. Your itinerary will be personalized according to your preferences. Once you’ve booked, someone from our team will be in touch, so let us know if you have any special requirements.

We went on this food tour on our second day In Amsterdam on a Saturday. Jordaan was a quaint town and we visited so many off the beaten path restaurants and shops that we would have never been able to find on our own. It was noticeably less crowded than the city center, which made for a very enjoyable experience. Our tour only had 5 people so we all got to spend time with our guide Gerard who even gave us tips for what to do and where to eat during the remainder of our stay. He was also very knowledgeable about the history of the city and spoke perfect English. We could tell that he really enjoys his job. The food itself was a great experience. We tasted many traditional Dutch dishes such as apple tart, bitterballen, and herring plus some other unexpected dishes like satay which we didn’t know had historical ties to the city. Would definitely recommend this tour!!

This is a really well organized way to get good food and see an interesting neighborhood. The PDF guide is easy to follow and gives good background on the multi ethnic shops. The portions and the prices are reasonable. Do save room for the stroopwafel. It's amazing hot off the waffle iron. I liked having a tour in my hand that I could do at my own pace. Total winner.

We really enjoyed this tour with Helena - she's a fantastic guide with great energy. We learned a lot about why Amsterdam looks the way it is now, got a lot of recommendations for places and restaurants, and of course tried new foods. The perfect activity to start getting to know Jordaan and Dutch food.

Excellent tour with Tolga. He was knowledgeable and my family and I enjoyed trying the different food plus learning the history of Amsterdam. Highly recommend.

The tour guide was super friendly and informative. He even waited on me even though I was late. Highly recommend. Thanks CRAIG!!
