The Phoenix des Lumières is located in a former puddling and rolling mill in the city of Dortmund. Culturespaces aims to bring the site back to life by creating a large digital art center that will present major immersive exhibitions. The unique architecture of the buildings is a showcase that highlights the works of the most famous artists in the history of art and provides visitors with a uniquely immersive experience. The Phoenix des Lumières opened to the public on 28 January 2023 with the exhibitions ‘Gustav Klimt: Gold and Colour’ and ‘Hundertwasser, in the Wake of the Vienna Secession’. Currently, you can experience the unique, modern exhibition of the famous works by revolutionary artists Gustav Klimt and Friedensreich Hundertwasser as well as the unique journey of discovery of the universe in the "Cosmos: An Infinite Journey" exhibition. With one of the entry tickets, wander through the renovated industrial space known as the Phoenix des Lumières. Let yourself be swept away by vivid colours and creative genius. Begin your immersive Klimt and Hundertwasser experience at the historical site of the Phoenix des Lumières. This former steel mill, once known as the Phoenixhalle, has been transformed to house a digital art center. Enter the 3,000m² building and marvel at the re-imagined space. Continue walking through the exhibit as you appreciate how the space has been brought back to life. As the paintings from Gustav Klimt's golden phase envelop you, admire the groundbreaking art style of this Vienna Secessionist. Then, gaze in wonder at Hundertwasser's kaleidoscope of moving color. "Cosmos: An Infinite Journey" takes visitors into a labyrinth of stars, planets, moons, and supernovae. A unique journey of discovery begins in the middle of the tropical rainforest at a space center in French Guyana and takes you to the deepest reaches of space, far beyond our own solar system. After launching from Earth, guests will travel alongside rovers and probes across the canyons of Mars, delve into the heart of Jupiter, glide over the rings of Saturn, and find themselves amidst stunning solar flares. The audience is captivated by the images and the accompanying music and embarks on an unprecedented space adventure thanks to original images from space, including those from the French space agency CNES.

Enjoy a self-guided tour through the Signal Iduna Park, home to the famous German football team BVB. Your tour will start at Foyer West, where an instructor will explain to you how the tour works. They will send you on your way to the western tribune. This is a self-guided tour, meaning you will explore the stadium on your own, following the instruction signs. Throughout the route, you will learn more about the stadium, the club, and the players. The expected duration of the tour is 60 minutes. A tour highlight includes the "mix zone", the area where rival teams meet each other for the first time. The player's cabins, the player tunnel, and of course the actual field are also awaiting you to explore. While you are not allowed to step onto the field or touch the grass, you are allowed to sit on the coach's bench, breathing in the BVB spirit.

Awaiting the visitors is a walk-in tropical house, natural history information on cocoa, exhibits from the pre-Columbian cultures of Central America, an important porcelain and silver collection from the Baroque period, as well as numerous old machines from the time of industrialisation. In a glass chocolate factory and in the chocolate atelier, visitors can experience how chocolate products are made industrially, but also individually by hand. And: there is a 3-meter-high chocolate fountain in which 200 kg of delicious chocolate constantly bubble up for tasting. Tasting is expressly encouraged!
