Tour was fun but guides and bus were late getting started due to crowds. We were texted in the morning that they would take us back to our hotels or Airbnb but that didn’t happen. Cemetery is crazy crowded so be prepared for that. Our guide was very personable and informative.

The tour was disappointing. What was advertised as an evening walking tour of Oaxaca’s neighborhoods and cementeries to appreciate the cultural significance and appreciation of Day of the Dead resulted in a 3 1/2 hr. van ride, stopping in Etla to experience a 1/2 hr. muerteada, and a 1/2 hr. visit to an abandoned cemetery. The two guides provided no commentary as to the customs or traditions of this annual Oaxacan commemoration honoring their deceased family members.
