What people are saying about Oaxaca de Juarez

This class was fantastic! It was very intimate with only 4 participants and the instructor. It was the perfect way to get introduced to mezcal and how to make cocktails with it. We learned about the different plants used to make mezcal, how it’s made, and how to taste it. Then we got to go behind the bar and learn how to make drinks! This was hands down my favorite part. We got to use real bartending tools and ingredients to make the drinks. Also the host is incredibly knowledgeable and has fantastic energy that made the class really fun. That said, the reason I deducted a star because the instructor didn’t seem fully prepared at times. The instructions said to show up 15 minutes before and the host was surprised that we showed up on time. There were several moments during the class where he had to get up and leave to find something he forgot.

As someone who knows very little about the world of cocktails and bartending, this experience was amazing. It was very fun getting to design my own drinks and just learning what the different tools and techniques are in making cocktails. It started off a bit slow, but I think it was necessary in order to have a better understanding of “mixology”. First we learned about the different types of mezcal and how it is produced from the plant to the final product. Then we actually got a chance to taste mezcal by itself to see what we are working with. After that we actually got a chance to go behind the bar and play around with all the ingredients and tools. It was a very happy mood and felt like a very intimate experience with our mixologist. I highly recommend this experience to anyone even slightly interested, you won’t be disappointed.

I would highly recommended this interactive experience while visiting Oaxaca. You do a mezcal tasting and learn about the unique and traditional ways it’s made. After the tasting, each person gets to make 3 different mezcal-based cocktails. This activity takes place at a beautiful lounge location and you will actually be behind a real bar with access to all the typical cocktail making tools. Our mezcal guide and cocktail-making instructor Andrea was great! She was very friendly and knowledgeable, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all the participants.

The Mezcal tasting was really interesting we had the opportunity to learn about the mezcal and had a great time tasting really good types of mezcal. The place is really well located and really nice. An experience that totally worths it to learn about mezcal.
