2. From Lisbon: Nazaré and Óbidos Day Trip
Get out of the big city on a day trip with a local guide. Visit Óbidos, an authentic medieval village, enjoy its imposing castle, and in the afternoon, watch the surfers at Nazaré Canyon.
Meet your guide in Lisbon and head to your first stop, Óbidos. See the many sights of this national heritage town and learn about its history with your guide. Climb the Porta da Vila and get a breathtaking view of the city before heading to Óbidos Castle.
Continue to the 3km long Aqueduct before heading to see the Óbidos Lagoon, Portugal's largest salt lake. Join the locals on a stroll down Rua Dereita and stop in one of the shops to get a local craft or try the local Ginjinha, a cherry liqueur served in chocolate glasses.
As you wander through town, stop at one of the local restaurants and enjoy a delicious traditional dish, soup of enguias. After you've finished lunch, return to your bus and head to Nazaré.
