  • Orlando: Bioluminescence Kayak Tour

    1. Orlando: Bioluminescence Kayak Tour

The source of our “living lights”—bioluminescence—is dinoflagellates,  single-celled organisms common in marine environments. Each bioluminescent dinoflagellate flashes only a fraction of a second when disturbed by water movement, but its high concentrations in the warm Indian River water create beautiful bluish-white trails of light caused by swimming fish and paddling kayakers. A swimming manatee may be completely concealed in a spectacular, other-worldly cloud of “living light!” Upon arriving at the park, check in with the trip leaders which includes signing a mandatory release of liability and assumption of risk form. You will be outfitted with a life jacket, kayak, and paddle. After some brief instruction, we will paddle as a group in search of the “living lights.” Most tours last a couple of hours, however, if the bioluminescence is super bright and dolphins or manatee show up on t...

  • Kayaking the Econlockhatchee River: Day-Trip From Orlando

    2. Kayaking the Econlockhatchee River: Day-Trip From Orlando

You will find the perfect day trip just minutes away from downtown Orlando on the banks of the Econlockhatchee River. This is a great way to escape the noise and development that’s taken over much of wild Florida. Relax in the shade of towering oaks and paddle the many twists and turns that define this lazy river. Come kayak the eight miles through the mysterious, moss covered cypress forest of the Little-Big Econ State Forest. Escaping the uncontrolled growth that dominates Orange and Seminole Counties, this state forest features a widening, lazy river where wildlife abounds. On past tours visitors have encountered bald eagles, red shoulder hawks, heaps of large wading birds, river otters, and, of course, alligators. The high sandy banks shade kayakers with enormous live oaks, pine, palm, and ancient cypress trees. Your catered lunch will be served picnic style at the Boy Scout Bridge...

Beautiful scenery wildlife and alligators. We navigated thru trees and logs and stopped for a well deserved snack at a nice sandy spot at the shore where you could spend some time walking the trails.

good guide

We had contacted ourselves about the weather / storm when it turned out that we had received the wrong location. Good that we called ourselves and on time otherwise we would have stood somewhere for nothing and lost our money. now we had to drive for more than 40 minutes, very poorly organized, the guide has to solve everything while his boss makes the reservations. please contact us about this because of course this should not be possible.

Wonderful trip!!

We had a great time! Our guide Ben was so knowledgeable and helpful. He make the trip fun, entertaining, and relaxing all at the same time. We definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting this area!
