A wonderful experience of Victorian life through the eyes of the royal family. Beautiful furniture and paintings. The Swiss Cottage designed by Prince Albert from his happy childhood memories with his brother and built in the grounds for his children is a lovely example of a Swiss chalet furnished with 3/4 size furniture. Each child had their own garden and they are still maintained today. It’s quite a long walk from the house so if you are physically challenged like me it’s best to take the complimentary shuttle service. ‘
Wonderfully maintained & very interesting! Well worth a visit & magnificent gardens to walk in & a great view of the private beach. Easy to imagine Queen Victoria & Prince Albert and their family spending time here. Very interesting to see how talented Queen Victoria & her many children were.
