  • Padua to Venice Boat Cruise of the Brenta Riviera

    1. Padua to Venice Boat Cruise of the Brenta Riviera

In ancient times, Padua and Venice were connected by typical river boats called Burchiello®. The wooden boats featured elegant cabins and 3 or 4 balconies, and were driven by the wind or oars, before being drawn by horses from Fusina to Padua. Recreate this journey on a full-day mini cruise from the heart of Padua to Venice San Marco. Departing from the historical Burchiello® Stairway at Portello, you will cruise along the original course of the 18th-century Venetian Burchielli, passing the gorgeous Villa Giovanelli at Noventa Padovana. Relax on board the luxury boat, with open-air deck to soak up the views. Disembark at Stra for a guided tour of Villa Pisani, the grandest villa of the Brenta Riviera. Continue towards Dolo, looking at historic illustrations of the different villas seen from the river. Pass through Dolo Lock and on towards Mira. Just past Mira Lock you will stop at Vill...

The guide was lovely and delivered a lot of very interesting information throughout the trip in several languages. The three villa’s we visited were all worth seeing and with something unique to each so they were not all the same. There are some scarily low bridges on the river that meant it was not safe the be on the upper deck for some parts of the trip but there were no bridges on the last stretch so we sat on the upper deck then and it was a really lovely way to arrive in Venice.

This wine tour was excellent from start to finish! Our guide, Mario is a sommelier and extremely knowledgeable about the region and it's wines. We visited 2 small, family run vineyards and learned different aspects of the wine making process at each. The wines we tasted were excellent! So good in fact that we ordered a case at each vineyard to be shipped home! The restaurant we were taken to for lunch was also very good with lots of charm and great food. Many locals eating there at our read Saturday - always a good indication. Mario met us at the meeting point right on time and dropped us off a little closer to Venice so we would have a shorter walk. He also took us to a small deli to pick up some of the cheese and meats we had enjoyed during the wine tasting. Overall, this was an exceptional day that we would highly recommend! Wonderful Prosecco Tour and Tastings

Mario, our guide was great. We visited 2 different vineyards with guided tastings of 5 Prosecco types at each. Beautiful lunch at a family run agriturismo with all ingredients sourced from their own land. Mario was friendly and very knowledgeable. A highlight of our trip to Venice.

A delightful day out

The boat trip is a great way to spend a day. Very relaxing with a good mix of visits to villas, enjoying the process of the locks and the bridges along the way and capped off by the spectacular entrance to Venice. Highly recommended

It is a nice feeling to drive through a beautiful, largely natural landscape on the deck of a ship. The villas are of course the highlights, each one for itself.

Very special and original. Brave the escorts. Getting to Venice from the lagoon is priceless
