Fuerteventura: Panoramic Tour

1. Fuerteventura: Panoramic Tour

Discover the Island of Fuerteventura on a day tour. Learn about the area's distinct culture, walk along a dune path, and visit the Natural Park of Betancuria. Begin your day with a pickup at your hotel in Corralejo, Lajares, Villaverde, or Cotillo, and hear a short briefing about the day's itinerary from your driver. From Corralejo, drive to the Sand Dunes Natural Park and admire the dunes that slide into the ocean. Take time to explore before a scenic ride along the eastern coast of Fuerteventura, passing through Puerto del Rosario, quaint villages, ancient volcanoes, lava flows, and desert landscapes.  Stroll along the white shores of Sotavento beach, in the southeast of the island. Admire the beautiful lagoons and capture the best panoramic shots on the road across the central mountains to Pájara, a quaint rural town. Stop for lunch in Ajuy, a picturesque fishing village, and try the local seafood. Visit the black sand beach or explore the exciting caves only a 30-minute walk away. Cross the Natural Park of Betancuria, the oldest part of the island, which offers broad views over the Canyon of La Peñita. Follow the winding streets of Betancuria, the first Castilian settlement in the Canary Islands and the ancient capital of Fuerteventura. Keep an eye out for the island's native birds, such as falcons, eagles, hawks, and vultures.  Finally, witness stunning views of the Tindaya mountain (also known as the "Sacred Mountain").

You’ll also learn about the life and traditions of the Canarian people living in the countryside.  You will visit the scenic villages of Pajara and Betancuria, making a stop at one of the best goat farms and cheese shops on the island, and enjoy a tasting of their produce. For lunch, enjoy a meal of tapas in an authentic local restaurant. The last spot of the day is the famous cheese museum located in the village of Antigua. At the end of the day you’ll be dropped back to your hotel.

3. Fuerteventura: Discover the island by Land Cruiser

Embark on an unforgettable tour by Land Cruiser, and discover the best way to explore the Canary Islands. Fuerteventura is famous for its magnificent beaches, but the interior is something else to be desired. Pass through Ajuy and Pajara, while enjoying the panoramic route in the mountains. Take out your camera and capture beautiful sites along the way. Next, head to the old capital, Betancuria. This small settlement was founded in 1404 and was once the capital of the island all the way up until the 19th century. From there, go offroading and discover wonderful and clandestine beaches, like Playa Jarubio and arrive at Cotillo to enjoy Escalera beach. Afterward, make a stop at Villa Verde and taste a delicious Canarian lunch. Then, explore the wonderful dunes of Corralejo, before heading back to Costa Calma.

Absolutely worth it! Very personable and competent guide who obviously puts a lot of effort into it. Interesting tour with lots of additional information and great sights. Great mix of nature and culture, even with a culinary highlight. We would do the tour again at any time and can only warmly recommend it!
