Meet your Segway leader on  Via dei Delfini for a short orientation session and briefing. Once you are comfortable on the easy-to-use Segways, glide from Trajan’s Forum - the last of the imperial fora - to the Campidoglio (Capitoline Hill), one of the legendary 7 hills of Rome. The Segway leaders will take care of you throughout your tour, and share fascinating stories about the history and culture of Rome. Go to Piazza Navona to experience the energy of Rome at its most accute. Then, visit the Temple of Hadrian and Pantheon, temple to all gods. Cruise along an historic alley to the Spanish Steps. Your last stop will be the Trevi Fountain, where you can throw in a coin to ensure that you will one day return to Rome.

Your tour will depart from the Piazza del Popolo at the foot of the panoramic Pincio (Pincian Hill) terrace, where you will have a brief introductory training session on use of the Segways to ensure you are confident riding, before taking you on a tour of discovery of Rome’s most magnificent piazzas. You will see Piazza della Rotonda with the Pantheon and its many cafes located around the 13 obelisks of the city, Piazza Navona with Bernini’s colossal Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers) and Campo dei Fiori with its famous daily market. Then, you will go across the Sant’Angelo bridge to the imposing Castel Sant’Angelo and Via della Conciliazione where you can admire the magnificent Cupola di San Pietro (dome of St. Peter’s), finishing in Piazza San Pietro with its superb colonnade. On the way back to Piazza del Popolo you will pass by the Ara Pacis Museum with the Mausoleum of Augustus.

The Roman Holiday Tour departs from Piazza del Popolo, one of the most famous piazzas in Rome, in the waiting room of the Urbe at the top of the famous Spanish Steps (Via del Babuino, Via del Corso and Via di Ripetta). After a short practice with the Segways to ensure everyone is confident riding them, the tour guide will take you down the ancient Roman road like in the famous film Roman Holiday. In Piazza della Rotonda, see the Pantheon, one of the oldest and best preserved monuments in Rome. Then go across the sacred area of Largo Torre Argentina and on to the Roman ghetto, where you’ll see Teatro Marcello, the Bocca della Verità and the Circus Maximus. Finally, you'll arrive at the monumental amphitheatre of the Colosseum and the magnificent area around the Imperial Forums. On the way back, you'll see the glorious “Vittoriano” (National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II) and the famous Trevi Fountain as you come into Piazza di Spagna at the foot of the Spanish Steps. The famous Via Margutta, well-known for its art shops and 16th-century houses, rounds off the tour in Piazza del Popolo.

Glide around the oldest quarters of Rome to Piazza Navona, built over the site of the Stadium of Domitian. Admire the columns of the imperial Pantheon, a former Greek temple built by Hadrian in 126 AD. Ride along the Roman Forum to the Colosseum, perhaps Rome’s most iconic building. Take a tour of Piazza Venezia, dominated by the wedding-cake Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II. Join part of the “Lovely Tour” route, Segway-ing past the Trevi Fountain and onto the romantic Spanish Steps. Then, glide across the vast Piazza del Popolo to see some of its legendary Renaissance fountains. Classic Tour: (2 Hours) The Classic Tour is a shorter version of the “Historic Tour” and visits many of the same sites, but in only 2 hours. The route starts at the pedestrian zone of Castel Sant’Angelo, where you will be taught how to ride your Segway. Then, head to St. Peter’s Basilica to admire the monumental dome and symbol of Christianity. Go to Piazza Navona to see stunning Renaissance architecture and the flamboyant fountains of Bernini. Admire the Imperial Pantheon, after a ride along the Roman Forum. And imagine the roar of the crowds at the mighty Colosseum. Pass through Piazza Venezia to reach the Spanish Steps, via the Trevi Fountain. Throw in a coin to ensure you one day return to Rome. And pop by Piazza del Popolo to see Romans and tourists gathered around the fountains and obelisk.
