Full description
Tour starts at your hotel (if located in Paris) or at the central Paris meeting point. Your driver guide will pick you up in a cozy air-conditioned minivan at around 7.30 AM. Enjoy tasty croissants on the way to Champagne, while your guide tells you all you need to know about the sparkling universe of champagne! Once you arrive in Champagne, you'll start your day with a visit to a very prestigious Estate (Moët & Chandon, Mumm, Veuve Clicquot, Mercier, Pommery, Lanson, etc. > depending on supplier availability). Discover never-ending galleries filled with bottles and of course, finish the guided-tour with a tasting. Back in your air-conditioned minivan, admire the landscapes and stop in the heart of the vineyard to enjoy a masterclass led by your wine expert guide. He will teach you the basis of the wine professional tasting. Next stop is for lunch in a family-run champagne house or at a local restaurant (depending on availability). You will have the chance to taste several glasses of champagne and ratafias (another local wine), paired with local food. Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Champagne Rosé… what would you pair them with? After lunch, enjoy a digestive tour through the vineyard of the Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. Learn the characteristics of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, and enjoy amazing views over the vineyard. Get ready to take some pictures! Last but not least, visit another family-run winery where you will learn the art of sabrage or disgorgement “à la volée” (a technique for opening a champagne bottle), depending on availability. Taste several delicious champagnes before heading back to Paris, where you will be dropped off in a central, Hotel de Ville.

We had such a fantastic experience with our guide, Joel! He was knowledgeable (he's a winemaker in the harvesting season), personable, and fun. My boyfriend and I were joined by 4 other travelers, making our van a full, but comfortable 7. Joel was a great communicator prior to the tour and was timely in picking us up. He brought fresh croissants and bottled water. We stopped at 2 champagne houses throughout the day, one bigger and one smaller. The bigger champagne house, Pommery, was full of so much history and touring the caves was amazing. We also stopped for lunch at a great local shop that specializes in champagne (4 tastings!) while also providing delicious food! I am gluten free and indicated so when we registered. The shop prepared great gluten free options for me. We also made stops at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Rheims and at Dom Peringon's grave. 10/10 would recommend. When people ask us about highlights of our trip, this is definitely one of them!

Don’t think twice — Book this trip!! We learned so much about the process of champagne making as well as tasted champagne from 4 unique champagne houses. We were also able to purchase bottles to take home with us. Our guide , Simone was amazing. His enthusiasm, passion, and knowledge made the trip even better. This was one of our highlights on our trip to Paris.

Went during off season while a lot of big houses were closed(Moët & Veuve) but it didn’t matter. Had a great educational time and enjoyed a variety of big houses(Pommery - FABULOUS CAVES) and co-ops(Dom Cuadron). They made the most of a unique time of trip.
