This was a fantastic tour in Pere Lachaise.

I was one of two people on the tour, so it felt as if it was a private tour. The tour guide was fantastic - chock full of information and very personable. He really made the cemetery come alive, so to speak, with stories of its history and inhabitants. I loved the quiet ambience of the cemetery. While there are tourists, there were not a ton the day of my tour and they were all quiet and respectful as one would hope in a cemetery.

Great visit with a passionate guide!

About the guide: Extensive knowledge, Lively and Funny About the Père Lachaise Cemetery: Must be done if already visited the Tier 1 landmarks (Louvre, Versailles, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre). Like visiting a museum without being trapped inside a building. The only issue for non-French is that most of celebrities resting in this cemetery and associated historical context are French, and therefore are harder to relate to. Note: As no English-speaking slot was available when we booked, our tour was in French.

Fantastic Tour

Recently we took a tour of Pere Lachaise Cemetery which was great, our guide Alberto was so interesting and full of information he showed us all of the important resting places as well as some extra ones which I did not even know were there. As the grave site is so large you really need a guide so that you get the most out of your visit and you don't spend all your time walking around in circles looking for Jim Morrison's grave like we saw so many other people doing. Highly recommend this tour and ask for Alberto to be your guide!
