Full description

Explore the miraculous Palace of Versailles on a full-day sightseeing tour by bike. Meet your guide at a central location near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and then go to the nearest RER station for the quick train trip to Versailles.

Once at Versailles, visit the village market to buy baguettes, cheese, ham, wine, or whatever you desire for a picnic lunch, to be held later in the Chateau's gardens. Spend most of the day riding in a relaxed fashion through the tree-lined gardens and near the Grand Canal.

The average Versailles tourist often doesn't realize that they will only visit a small fraction of the gardens if they go by foot. But on this 8-hour tour, see it all.

The tour includes round-trip train tickets from Paris to Versailles and back, and all necessary bike equipment, including children's seats, if you need them.

Includes
  • Round-trip train tickets, Paris-Versailles
  • Guide
  • Bicycle
  • Timed entrance to the chateau
  • Entrance to the Grand and Petit Trianons and Marie Antoinette's Hameau
  • Garden ticket on fountain days
  • Lunch supplies at the market

Fun way to explore Versailles and see most of the grand canal and the park grounds. We loved how we could stay and explore Versailles at our leisure afterwards. The picnic lunch was fun and unique experience. Our guide, Maddy, was very friendly, enthusiastic and good guide. You do so see and do a lot in a day, so keep in mind to stay energized. While it is a taste of what Versailles can offer and you might not have the most time to explore everything in depth since the grounds and palace are extensive, you can have an idea of what you would like to do if you want to return back in the future.

Apart from our picnic getting rained out! it was a great day. Everything from meeting to getting on the train, getting our bikes, getting our food was smooth and efficient. Nick was a veritable encyclopedia of information. He was animated and enthusiastic despite the rain and made sure that we got to see everything promised. A good day despite the weather.

We absolutely loved the day we spent with Cory from the ‘fat tire’ company. She was able to tell us lots of interesting historical stories which our teenage children loved. The bike riding was not too hard and it was great to get out into the countryside. The market was wonderful. An amazing and memorable day for us. Thank you.
