Full description
Meet our guide in Paris and take the train out to Versailles where we will pick up your bikes and ride to the famous city market to shop for your picnic supplies. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the park and why the chateau has played such an important role throughout history. We'll pause for a picnic at the end of the Grand Canal, to settle down for a royal feast. Continuing on to the 2,000 acres of tree-lined paths, enjoy a leisurely ride to visit Marie Antoinette's Hamlet and both the Petit and Grand Trianons. After the bike tour, we'll head to the chateau to enjoy the highlight of the day. With your special access reservation, go behind the scenes to an exclusive section of the palace, closed off to the general public. Enjoy free time to take in the breathtaking Hall of Mirrors, Marie Antoinette's chambers, and the royal quarters. After visiting the palace, you can still walk around Versailles, the formal gardens or return to Paris by train (transportation cost included).

Great tour guide!

We had a great tour guide (Thomas). He was knowledgeable, fun and kept the tour lively. The only thing I would ask is that before entering the Palace of Versailles, it would have been nice to have been directed to the coat/bag room so that we did not have to dispose of all of our still-full glass bottles. Other than that, it was one of the highlights of our trip and I would highly recommend this tour and tour guide.
