Full description
Meet your guide in central Paris and enjoy a short, escorted train ride to Versailles. On arrival, start a journey in the footsteps of the kings and queens of France. During the reign of Louis XIV, the Sun King, Versailles was the place to be and to be seen. Nowadays visitors from all over the world still come to Versailles to marvel at the splendors of this incredible palace. Your skip-the-line access allows you to bypass the long lines that form each day, and your friendly local guide will steer you expertly through the crowds, bringing the famous figures who once inhabited this palace back to life, and making sure you don’t miss a thing. After visiting the royal apartments inside the palace, your guide will lead you through the spectacular gardens, once the setting of balls, parties and elaborate firework displays. On fountain show days you will see the amazing waterworks, still running today as they did in the times of kings and queens. After your tour, dine like a king at the sumptuous new restaurant Ore, recently opened in the spectacular 18th century salons at the Chateau of Versailles by renowned chef Alain Ducasse. Savor a delicious gourmet lunch and discover fine French cuisine. Alain Ducasse is world-famous for his inspired cooking, combining fresh, local ingredients to produce timeless and contemporary dishes. Admire the beautiful views of the chateau while you feast on some of the best French food. It’s the perfect way to end your tour.

Marion Rame was an extraordinary tour guide

We had the most most wonderful time at Versailles. Marion met us at the metro station and was delightful and immediately brought us into the world and history of Versailles in such an appealing and enthusiastic and passionate way. Our group was so impressed with her and her knowledge and her way of explaining in such a manner that kept us engages for any hours....despite the distraction of rain, crowds and stuffiness inside the palace since it was so muggy with the rain. If we go back to Paris....we would love to have Marion be our guide for other tours.

A day was just not enough!

My daughter and I took the Versailles Palace and Gardens tour- WOW! Our tour guide was informative and helpful. The Palace was over the top but the gardens were just stunning! We enjoyed a gourmet lunch mid day and spent the rest of the day touring the water features and gardens. One suggestion- add MANY more trams! The number of people on the grounds and the number of trams to move people on an extraordinary hot day was insufficient.

The lunch should be arranged before the garden tour.

The lunch should be arranged before the garden tour. It is too rush for the garden tour. Not enough time spent on garden. It is because our tour with lunch has been grouped with other tours without lunch.
