You can experience changing of the guard without a guide, and we met several people that did, but without a guide you will miss 90% of the experience. Changing of the guard includes movements of the guards between locations, so it is important to know exactly where to be and when to be there. Our guide (Alan) has done this tour hundreds of times, so he had the locations exactly right, and timed the group's location at each stop right to the minute.

Guide Alan is more than recommended. The weather was bad, he remained very enthusiastic. Took us to places we wouldn't have found on our own, lots of fun facts, takes us out of the hustle and bustle of tourism. A guide with passion for his profession who clearly intends to give his audience a very good time. Sense of humour. Thank you Alan!

Our tour guide Allen was great, I would recommend a tour with him, very knowledgeable and knows all the important places to get the best photo.

Highly recommended to really see the changing of the guard. The guide, Allan, great! And following the royal guard has been super fun!

While we missed part of the show due to change of plans with the rainy weather, it was so beautiful and an informative tour
