Start your trip with pickup from your hotel in El Calafate between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, depending on your preference. Once on the road, travel the 80 kilometers that separate the town from the glacier. Upon arrival at the parking lot, if you select the add-on for this tour, your group will have a 1-hour boat ride in front of the northern wall of the glacier, the best way to see, hear, and photograph the glacier.  Then, spend up to five hours walking around and exploring the glacier and the trails around it with your guide. Among the earth’s most dynamic and accessible ice fields, this glacier is the stunning centerpiece of the southern sector of Los Glaciares National Park. Start the day with the pick-up from your hotel in Ushuaia. Once in the car, you´ll head west in the direction of the National Park. While you leave Ushuaia city, you´ll start to have nice views of the Beagle Channel and the Andes Mountain Range. After 20 minutes, you´ll be driving along the historical and beautiful Pipo River Valley, where the prisoners from the Old Penal Colony of Ushuaia were harvesting wood for over 50 years with the aid of a narrow gauge train. At only 10 kilometers (6 miles) from Ushuaia, you´ll find the famous train "The End of the World", which is a reconstruction of the old train of the prison and were you´ll spend some time discovering this wonderful attraction. Then it will be time to go inside the park either by car or by train (one hour ride). Once in the national park, you´ll continue west for about 25 minutes to reach its end at the coast of Lapataia Bay. This gorgeous bay of the Beagle Channel has a big symbolic value because the end of the route 3 is also the southern end of the Pan-American Highway. After spending some time walking and discovering the coast of the bay and taking pictures, there´s no other choice but to start driving in the other direction. Departing from the end of the Pan-American Highway, you´ll go to visit the stunning Roca Lake, which was carved and formed by the action of glaciers for over 10,000 years. After enjoying a cup of tea or coffee with the great scenario this lake offers, you´ll start heading east on the route 3, getting closer to the city. But before leaving the park, you´ll reach the coast of the Beagle Channel again to visit Zaratiegui Bay this time. This gorgeous bay with a magnificent landscape holds a special sub Antarctic evergreen forest as well as the typical "End of the World" post office. In this cozy and traditional post office you will be able to stamp your passport with special stamps and also send postcards from the furthermost point of America to anywhere in the world. From here, you´ll return to Ushuaia which lays 20 minutes driving from this bay.

4. Gourmet Glacier Cruise & Footbridges of Perito Moreno

Enjoy a full day experience aboard the María Turquesa Cruise that travels to the most impressive glaciers, sailing with the highest comfort. Begin with the transfer from your hotel to the Private Port La Soledad. After traveling 47 KM enter the National Park and board the boat. Cross a peninsulas encounter called "Boca del Diablo" to enter the North Arm of the lake. Navigate between icebergs through the Upsala Canal where you can observe the Upsala Glacier about 10 km away. Go to the Spegazzini Channel to see hanging glaciers such as Dry Glacier, Heim Sur, Peinetta and disembark at Las Vacas Post where you will make a 30-minute walk through a lovely forest. Continue to the front of the highest glacier in the National Park, the Spegazzini Glacier (135 meters above the lake level/440 ft above the lake level). Take advantage of the time, take pictures and contemplate in silence with the surrounding natural beauty. Head to your final destination at Perito Moreno Glacier, where you will disembark on the walkways to culminate a day full of magic and surprises. Finally, take a bus in which you will return to your hotel in El Calafate at the end of the day.

5. El Calafate: Full-Day Chalten Tour with Hiking

Your day begins at 7:30AM in the morning from El Calafate, from where you will take the mythical Route 40 which borders the Argentino Lake. Following that, cross the Santa Cruz River, before continuing to the La Leona River where you will walk through its canyon until you reach the old hotel of Paso La Leona. There you can enjoy a coffee accompanied by homemade cakes, and from there you will continue skirting the Viedma Lake with the Andes in the background. Before reaching the village you will stop at the viewpoint of the Viedma Glacier from where you will be able to appreciate beautiful panoramic views of the glacier, the Cordillera, and the emblematic Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. You will later arrive at the mountain village of El Chaltén after 3 hours of travel, having traveled a total distance of 220 kilometers. After visiting the interpretation center, there is a walk to Chorrillo del Salto, an impressive waterfall due to its height and surrounding landscape. Towards noon there is lunch in the restaurant, after which optional hikes are offered to the Mirador de los Cóndores and an eagle lookout, both accompanied by your guide. At 4:30PM, you will begin your return to El Calafate.
