Lita (spelling?) was absolutely fantastic. She was knowledgeable about every aspect you could wish for, from the symbolism of certain monuments to the historic context for things as basic as a fountain. We really can’t say enough good things about her. I am a world history teacher in the US, and she filled in a number of gaps for me with exciting specifics and anecdotes that I’m sure my students will be fascinated by (knife fights between King Peter I and his step brother/enemies, the artistic motifs that blend Islamic and Christian architecture in terms of how they attempted to honor God, et Al). The Cathedral is a must see, I have never seen such monuments to man’s desire to gloat over his enemies and their own victories, all attributed to the glorification of God. She explained these motifs in such living detail, I am a richer person for having taken her tour!

Beautiful! However, you don’t actually get to skip the line or at least we didn’t get to. At 9:30 am it moved fast. Takes about an hour if you get a guided tour and then you have time to explore further which we definitely wanted to do.

A very interesting tour! It was a good pace and a good length on a very hot day. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept us as cool as possible as he moved us around to different parts of the palace. A great experience.
