Follow in the footsteps of the Count Dracula legend on a 2-day tour to Peles Castle and Bran Castle in the Transylvanian mountains. Wander the ornate rooms and gardens of former royal residences, and see Saxon houses that date back to the 16th century. The scenic drive takes you high up into the Carpathian Mountains where time has stood still at enchanting villages, and where Romanians head in the winter to ski at the mountain resort of Sinaia. Day 1: Bucharest - Sighisoara Following a pick-up from your hotel in Bucharest (or from Revolution Square at 09:00), cross the Carpathian Mountains en route to Sibiu, stopping at the Monastery of Curtea de Arges to explore the complex founded by Prince Neagoe Basarab in 1514-1517. During the summer (1 June - 15 September), the route to Sibiu takes the unique Transfagarasan Road across the Carpathians, climbing to an altitude of 2,000 meters at its highest point. Upon arrival in Sibiu, enjoy a quick tour of the medieval city center. Then, drive to Sighisoara on the picturesque Tarnava Mare River. Marvel at the beautifully preserved citadel, and wander the enclosed walls and cobblestone streets of the Old Town. See Saxon houses that date back to the 16th century, and the 9 surviving towers, including the iconic Clock Tower. From the balcony of this former main gate to the city, enjoy beautiful views across the town and countryside. Immerse yourself in the medieval atmosphere at sights such as the former Church of the Dominican Monastery, where valuable relics include a fresco of the Saint Trinity, a carved altarpiece, and Oriental carpets. Day 2: Sighisoara - Brasov - Bran - Bucharest Today you will drive to Brasov to discover where Vlad the Impaler led his raids against the German Saxons. Explore the medieval city center on a tour of the Black Church, Town Hall, Black Tower, and Ecaterina Gate. Then, continue to “Dracula’s Castle,” located between the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains. More commonly known as “Bran Castle,” the important monument depends on the legend of Count Dracula for its reputation, but is also acclaimed for its beauty. Learn the history of the castle, from the 14th century to the day in December 1920 when the castle was donated to Queen Marie of Great Romania. Admire the fountains, lakes, and halt terraces of the former royal summer residence, and see the "Tea House" of Queen Marie. Continue to the beautiful mountain resort of Sinaia, known as "The Pearl of the Carpathians." Here, you will visit Peles Castle, one of Romania's most exquisite palaces. Learn about the Romanian kings that used the castle as their summer residence as you admire its intricate façades and see wooden towers that reach for the sky. Discover the fountains and statues built by Viennese architects in the grounds, and imagine the balls, concerts, literary events, and theatrical performances of Romanian high society in days gone by. Wander the opulent interiors to find ebony, walnut and mother of pearl. Go to the terraces and grand outhouses of the castle complex, such as Pelisor Castle and Sinaia Monastery. Venture inside the Monastery, built by the "Spatar" (a high ranking noble of the Valahian Kingdom), Mihai Cantacuzino following his pilgrimage to Mount Sinai. The monastery contains religious icons and rare books, as well as an exhibition of pottery and porcelain that dates from the 16th to the 19th centuries. There will be time to visit the 19th-century wine cellars from Azuga, built by the Rhein family, official suppliers to the Royal Court. Purchase some authentic still wines and sparkling wines of Romania, before transferring back to Bucharest in the evening.

Day 1: Bucharest - Arrival Upon arrival at Bucharest International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the company staff that will transfer you to your hotel in Bucharest for overnight stay. Accommodation in Bucharest Day 2: Bucharest City Tour Brekfast: At the hotel Departure: 09:00 AM Bucharest has the allure that many other capitals have: new buildings combined with historical monuments (such as the Palace of the Parliament) and the hustle of a restless city. Your journey in the country of supernatural and vampires will start from the capital city and it has so many included activities. This Dracula tour will let you explore all the places that are related to the mysterious phenomena and mythical creatures that failed to be explained. Lunch: At your expense In the evening you will visit Bucharest's Old Centre. The narrow streets from nowadays, which are filled with stylish bistros and cafes, are the place that public trials were held. The judge of these trials was the Wallachian prince Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Tepes), the man that inspired the legend of Dracula. The day ends with a lovely dinner at a cozy restaurant. You will arrive there by following the former trade routes taken by armies, caravans, or fugitives hundreds of years ago, through the Carpathian Mountains. Once there, you will visit the beautiful historic city with its large and picturesque square and learn the secrets that have been guarded by the city's walls and the catacombs underneath. On the way, if the weather allow us will have a stop at Poenari Castle. Built in 15th century by Vlad the Impaler is considered the real draculas castle. En route to the ruins of draculas poenari castle are 1480 steps to climb. This journey will take you to the Olt Valley, a place where nature remained in its pure and wild form. Olt Valley is a very well conserved and picturesque natural area in Romania. It offers a truly spectacular view to everyone that passes its gorges. Lunch: At your expense Sibiu city tour includes visiting some of the old town's heritage sites. Some of them are the Main Square, and the Roman Catholic Cathedral. You will also visit the Evangelical Church located in Huet Square. After passing the Stairs Passage, you will also get to cross the famous Bridge of Lies. Dinner: At your expense Overnight in Sibiu Day 4: Sibiu - Hunedoara - Cluj-Napoca Breakfast: At the hotel After breakfast, your Halloween trip continues with exploring further the region and castles from Transylvania, that has yet more to reveal. It will make your trip unforgettable. Today's main attraction is the medieval castle, Corvin Castle, whose visitors can never forget it. Several international publications included it among the most impressive castles in the world. To top it up, Corvin Castle might also feature in a top of awe-inspiring, haunted places. Lunch: At your expense At the end of the day, you will reach Cluj-Napoca, the largest city in Transylvania and one of the largest student centers in Romania. After taking a walking tour through the Old City Center, you will have free time to explore the local cafes and bohemian restaurants near the hotel. In there is located Biertan Fortified Church, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site that dates back from the Middle Ages. It inspired many novelists with its cold appeal. The fortress was built somewhere in the 15th century and is one of the biggest fortified churches in Transylvania. Sighisoara Citadel is known to be the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, the prince that is at the core of Dracula's legend. His name, Vlad Dracul, was inspired by his father's name, Vlad Dracul. Sighisoara is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Eastern Europe. The house is situated next to a Dominican monastery, and today it hosts a pub and a restaurant. The legend-filled house is popular among the people that are interested in the famous vampire. Your next stop is in Bran, next to Bran Castle - where all the magic is about to happen. The evening is booked for your Halloween party at Dracula's Castle. The town has a medieval ambiance given by the famous Gothic cathedral, The Black Church, the largest cathedral in Southeastern Europe. The edifice dates from the 14th century. However, due to many external factors, it was finalized only in the late 15th century. The castle was home to one of the most important collections of paintings in Europe, and it is well-known for its large collection of over 4,000 European and Oriental weaponry. Lunch: At your expense The last monument of the tour is Snagov Monastery, a historic and religious site located on an island in the Snagov Lake. It is most famously known as the alleged final resting place of Vlad the Impaler. Although there is no solid evidence that Vlad is buried in the monastery, it remains a symbol of Romanian cultural heritage. After being picked up from your accommodation in Bucharest travel to the stunning city of Sinaia. You will start the day in Sinaia by visiting Peles, the palace of the first Romanian king. After your palace visit you take a short walk to the smaller, but equally beautiful palace, Pelisor. After you finish exploring the royal estate you go to the beautiful Sinaia Monastery. In the afternoon you will take a short drive to Azuga and visit the Rhein Wine Cellar to learn about the production of sparkling wine. Then enjoy some delicious local sparkling wine. End your day by visiting the charming memorial house of the great Romanian composer, George Enescu.

Depart Bucharest and journey to one of the most beautiful castles in Europe and learn the amazing story of Peleș Castle. Discover its opulent interior and beautiful gardens, where Romanian royalty used to tread. Admire the Neo-Renaissance architecture of Peleș Castle and marvel at the surrounding mountains in a setting that will capture your heart. Throughout November, when Peleș Castle is closed, visit Pelișor Castle ("Little Peleș") instead. Next, go to the medieval fortress of Bran Castle, often referred to as "Dracula's Castle" for its rumored links to Vlad the Impaler.
