Full description

Visit several unmissable sites on this historical Old City Philadelphia tour. Learn about the fascinating history of the city from a local's perspective as you see a variety of buildings including Independence Hall, Congress Hall, and the Old City Hall.

Meet your guide at the Signers Garden in the middle of the Independence National Historical Park. Go back to the time of the nation’s founding, weaving your way through this charming neighborhood. Your guide will share knowledge of the most significant sites of the park, such as Independence Hall, Congress Hall, and Old City Hall.

See the Liberty Bell, where you'll hear about why this iconic symbol has become so famous all around the world. Just next door, you’ll enter the President’s House site, home to George Washington and John Adams during Philly’s tenure as the nation’s capital.

Pay your respects to one of the United States' most influential citizens at the gravesite of Benjamin Franklin. Continue to be immersed in history as you venture past the Betsy Ross House and then down Elfreth’s Alley, the street famous for being the oldest continuously occupied residential street of the 13 British colonies.

As this Philadelphia tour winds down, your guide will help you make the rest of your visit just as memorable, recommending restaurants, pubs, and more fun things to do during your stay in the city.

Marty Foley was our well informed guide. He shared so much history in such an easy to digest format. I felt like I was walking along the streets of early Philly listening to the stories from the mouths of the founding fathers. He was full of anecdotes and side stories of the events and characters. His voice was pleasant to listen to and he had a nice rhythm to his speech. All in all he was mesmerizing, friendly, and patient.

We had David as our tour guide and he was fantastic. He was patient, well versed and provided excellent explanations of the area and the history around it. He seems like he is local to the area and gave great recommendations to grab coffee and good food as well. Overall, Highly recommended.

My husband and I greatly enjoyed the Founding Fathers walking tour! As first timers to Philly, this tour gave us a nice overview of the major historical landmarks, figures, and events that took place in the city which is exactly what we were looking for. Our you guide Carla was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions regarding the various sites we saw. Just an FYI for anyone interested in this tour, you do not get access to any museums as part of this tour so if you are looking for entry into some of the local museums, this might not be the tour for you. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to get a nice overview and tour of the city and many important aspects of its history!
