Trastevere: 2.5-Hour Street Food Tour

1. Trastevere: 2.5-Hour Street Food Tour

Meet your guide on Tiber Island in the center of Rome, the only urban island of the Tiber river. Together, start the tour in the medieval side of Trastevere. Your guide will take you to the Church of Santa Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians, and your first stop will be in one of Rome's oldest bakeries.  Trastevere remains very traditional and boasts the presence of many old-school craftsmen and traders. Discover their  work, unchanged by modernity, like the cold cuts store where you can taste salami and cheese cured in the local Italian tradition.  Explore the magnificence of Santa Maria in Trastevere, the biggest and most important church in the district. Keep on walking and enjoy the atmosphere of Trastevere, strong along its alleyways to get to the Piazza Trilussa, named after a famous Roman poet from the last century. Bring your camera with you to catch the shape of big Cupolone, the Saint Peter's dome that reveals itself by Sistus Bridge, before closing the tour with the grand finale, a tasty handmade gelato cone.

A fantastic way to explore this super interesting area and try some great tasty Roman treats in authentic cafes and bakeries. We ended up returning to the area (and one of the actual food spots on the tour) again the next day because we enjoyed it so much. Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable and we appreciated the Italian wine tips he gave us when we saw him out later that evening!

Delicious food and great walk. I learned a lot about the Trastevere district and the local delicacies. Our guide, the Emanuele, was really great and had lots of insider tips ready. I would definitely do the tour again. Highly recommended. Thank you for the great time.

We were absolutely thrilled. Each culinary specialty was excellent. We didn't know Trastevere before and got a great insight into the rich history of this lively district of Rome. Thank you Mattia !!
