Our boat ride was lovely!! The boat itself is gorgeous and the Captain was incredibly friendly. My husband and I enjoyed chatting with him during part of the ride - discussing the boat (my husband is a boat nerd) and the Douro Valley/Portugal. I booked 5-6pm to enjoy the golden hour of sunset (5:15pm). In hindsight I should have probably booked it for 4-5pm because the high mountains block out some of the sun- making the sunset feel earlier. The ride was smooth and relaxing!!!

Beautiful views on a relaxing 2 hour cruise. Our captain Paolo was an excellent guide to talk about wine, the Douro valley and Portugal (ask about DC Porto, his Futebol team). His English was perfect. The boat was lovely as well. We would highly recommend this trip.

On a cold morning trip our pilot and guide Barbara was warm, super accomodating and friendly. She was a wonderful local ambassador for the area. Highly recommend this first before visiting quintas - a real window into the passion and effort embodied in the region’s vineyards.
