Wow. What an experience. Truly one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done. Our guide was informative, fun and really friendly. We found the sharks (between 3-5) so quickly when we arrived in the area different ones. When we first arrived there were around 20 boats but within 5 minutes they’ve all disappeared and we were the only boat - we had the sharks to ourselves! I would recommend requesting a late morning trip to avoid all the other boats! The food was great and the crew were all helpful. HIGHLY recommend taking travel sickness medicine beforehand as the sea is really rocky even on a clear day! They also provide this on the tour. The sharks were MUCH faster than expected and you really need to swim FAST to even try to keep up with them. What an amazing experience.

Driven to the spot by speedboat about 1.5 hours. Waited there for several hours in vain for whale sharks and drove around more slowly. Due to the small boat, it was rocking a lot and you should definitely take the pills offered to prevent nausea. But we were able to admire dolphins and turtles. On the way back we went to Isla Mujeres for swimming or snorkeling, depending on what the group wanted. Had booked a German-speaking guide but unfortunately had been told the day before that he was ill. Everyone else on board only spoke English or French.

It was really a great experience to swim with a whale shark. Furthermore, we saw dolphins on the way back and were able to snorkel in front of the isla Mujeres. Unfortunately we only had one swim because there were so many boats around. It's really crowded and 10-15 people are constantly trying to swim with the animal. You really feel sorry for the animals. Our guide and captain were good and friendly and the transfer was also on time. But the day is very tiring.
