Full description
Waste no time waiting in line with a skip-the-line ticket to the bullring in Seville — the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza. Take an included 1-hour guided tour to get the most out of your visit, and enjoy the use of an included headset so you don't miss a moment of your guide's commentary. During the activity, visit the Bullfight Museum, which is divided into 4 different parts. Discover the aim of bullfighting and the history of it. Learn about the different parts of a bullfight and all the people who have a share in it. Take a look at original bullfighter costumes, capes, and more. Next, head to the horses' courtyard and admire the chapel where bullfighters pray before the fight. Stay for a few minutes in front of the main gate, hear the sound of the opening wood door, then enter the arena like a bullfighter. From the middle of the arena, contemplate the tendidos (front rows), look at the bull pens (toriles), and appreciate the most important gate in the bullring: the Prince's Gate. If the matador crosses it, he gets a wonderful reception.

I had the tour booked with a Spanish guide as there was only the choice of English and Spanish. Margherita, very good and although I don't know Spanish, I understood perfectly what she was saying. I liked the description made in the smallest detail, which certainly is not the same if one chooses the audio guide. The culture of Seville can only be transmitted to you by a trained person. Heartfelt thanks to Mrs Margherita for introducing me to the true meaning of bullfighting.

The tour was very informative and we learned a lot! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The only drawback was the language and volume- because of the ear piece, and Margarita speaking a bit softly, it was hard for people who are not used to listening to Spanish speakers speak English to understand (my older parents). I could understand because I am fairly used to this as I am an English teacher, but for someone who is not used to hearing English with a Spanish accent, it was hard for them to understand.

The tour was short and sweet, however they should incorporate more intimacy with the stalls where bulls are held and walk us through where they come out to get the animal’s POV. That could be very cool. They should also invest in an AV room or video production that breaks down a fight. Our guide did it on her IPad and that was great, kudos to her, but I think the bullring should add to the museum they have created
