  • Pompeii Reserved Entry Ticket

    5. Pompeii Reserved Entry Ticket

Visit this Roman city with all its temples, theaters, homes, and public buildings. On the morning of August 24, AD 79, the Vesuvius eruption took Pompeii's 11,000 residents by surprise. The dramatic event killed the inhabitants and the city was buried beneath ash. This event created one of the most preserved archeological sites in the world today.  Explore well-known sites such as the amphitheater, the Villa of Mysteries as well as the houses of Vettii and Faun, amongst others.

It's really worth going to Pompeii! However, the tickets onsite are sold for 16 EUR while I paid 22 EUR online. This is annoying. I went there on a Saturday that was supposed to be sold out (online), but they still sold tickets to visitors that did not have a reservation.

Don't bother buying any kind of ticket for pompeii other than the official italian ONLINE ticket. there is no 'fast track' 'skip the queue' tickets. the only people who can skip the queue are the ones with the actual online Tickets. Not the getyourguide or any other kind of voucher tickets. also stay away from the Ticket office at the trainstation. even tho there are signs that it deals with getyourguide tickets, it is not the official Pompeii ticket office and they just waste your time there.

After exploring the site, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere as the sun sets over Pompeii at the end of your tour.

we chose that tour because of the excellent reviews, and also since it was limited to 10 people. Sasa, the guide was excellent. knowledgeable, attentive, with a subtle sense of humor. it wasn't only the knowledge, but also the tempo which was just right, and the way he managed to bring to life the ruins and what was once there. Small group size means you have a very different experience. no need for "flags" or talking loudly. highly recommended.

Visiting Pompeii and Vesuvius was an amazing and unforgettable experience without any doubt. Anyone who will go to Naples should visit those two places. Our tour guide Francesca, from the other hand, even though gave us all the infos that we needed to learn about Pompeii , was rude and not too easy to communicate especially in the beginning. It was our first time there we knew nothing about where to go or what to do and yet I wanted to ask a question and all I got back was to ignore me. So after that i didn't have much joy in listing to her. Another than that eveything was more than amazing!

What people are saying about Pompei

Sergio was an excellent guide, genuine storyteller who is passionate about the subject. He speaks great English and was very easy to understand and follow which is very nice for those of us who don’t speak Italian. The guide is a must at this beautiful site and I cannot recommend this enough. Very interesting history and insights into archeology, the park is a must see and this guide is perfect.

Anna Sorrento was an amazing guide! She led us to the most intersting places of Pompeii and told interesting anecdotes. It was an advantage that she works herself as an archeologue at Pompeii. She also made sure that we could stand in the shade when possible. We highly recommend taking a tour with Anna!

Very interesting tour with guide Paula. She explained many things and answered all our questions. Absolutely recommended as this adds to understanding Roman life.
