Pompeii and Vesuvius Full-Day Tour from Amalfi Coast

1. Pompeii and Vesuvius Full-Day Tour from Amalfi Coast

Discover the beauty of the Amalfi coast, climb Mount Vesuvius, and see the excavation site at Pompeii, all on one tour! Drive along the coastal road and pass the picturesque towns that make Italy's Campania region unforgettable, then explore the ancient city of Pompeii. In Pompeii, explore one of Europe's most compelling excavation sites. This Roman city was lost for 1700 years, partially destroyed and buried under ash and pumice after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, get unique insight into ancient city life. After lunch, depart for Mount Vesuvius. Take the minibus up the volcano, and be escorted by a guide to the summit. From here, enjoy views over the southern part of the volcano, and, during days with good visibility, the entire gulf of Naples. On the journey back, visit one of the most prestigious cameo and coral factories in the region to see the production of typical Italian carvings.

Amalfi Coast: Boat and Snorkeling Tour with a Captain

2. Amalfi Coast: Boat and Snorkeling Tour with a Captain

Board an Amalfitan Gozzo boat for a scenic ride along the Amalfi coast. Admire natural wonders, including the Natural Arch and Faraglioni Rocks. Swim and snorkel or relax on the shores of secluded beaches. Once everybody has jumped on board and had a little briefing about how you're going to spend the day, you will be ready to set off to the west towards Positano. The route will take you along Amalfi Coast’s finest beaches as well as close to natural rock arches and into sea caves, giving you the opportunity to admire the old watchtowers that dot the entire length of this coast. You will pause at beaches reachable only by sea and have time to go snorkeling or swimming in crystal-clear waters and into grottoes. Not too far from the starting point, right after leaving the center of Amalfi, you will get close to Saint Andrew's Grotto, a huge natural sea cave full of stalactites named after the patron saint of Amalfi (Andrea). Then, once passed Duoglio and Santa Croce beaches, you will stop by the "Arc of Lovers", a natural rock arch created millions of years ago by the erosion of the sea whose shape recalls two elephants in the act of kissing. Up to not too long ago young couples used to get married on the top of it. A little later you will cruise in front of the ancient fishing village of Conca dei Marini, passing near the villa of Sophia Loren and seeing the historic hotel “Il Saraceno” located on La Vite Beach. From here you will also have a stunning view of the Santa Rosa Monastery, a former convent now converted into a luxury hotel, once home of the Dominican nuns. It's right in the kitchens of this monastery that the delicious "Sfogliatella Santa Rosa" was born, a shell-shaped pastry filled with ricotta cheese-based cream and little dried fruit pieces, typical of the local culinary tradition (don't forget to taste it before leaving!). Once past the seaside of Conca dei Marini you will enter its western basin, where you will have a beautiful view of Furore and Praiano villages and the islands of Li Galli and Capri, together with the well-known Faraglioni Rocks. Further inside this basin we will find the little Runghetiello Grotto and its tiny beach, where you will anchor for a break to go swimming or snorkeling. You will reach then the famous Furore Fjord, the only natural fjord in Italy and location of the international diving competition "MarMeeting": every year in July, professional divers from around the world compete by jumping from the top of the bridge which is 28 meters high. Navigating a little farther onward to the village of Praiano you will be able to have a close look at a bigger sea cave, the Africana Grotto, where the water has a distinctive blue color thanks to the unique refraction of light. Finally you will go round Capo Sottile and continue cruising to Positano, where you will have another break for snorkeling at a beach reachable only by the sea and so not crowded at all: La Porta. The return trip to Amalfi will give you a different but equally remarkable view of both sea and land.

JP and Max came to pick us up on time. They were very courteous. We went on January, so it was foggy in the morning but it cleared up in the afternoon. Pompeii guide was informative and Amalfi coast ride was very beautiful. Only thing is that the lunch restaurant they suggested was delicious but took so long to get served. so we didn't have enough time to explore the town of Amalfi. I wish we had more time there. other than that, this was excellent excursion!

Fantastic trip. The guide in Pompeii was great as was the tour guide, Joseph. Drove from Rome to Pompeii and then lunch on Amalfi and drive back via Amalfi coast. Great service and very patient guide and driver. 3 couples in a minivan, comfortable ,

Amazing trip. Stopped in Pompeii for a few hours, along the road to get pictures along Almafi coast, positano. Only 12 in our group but able to feel like I was just with my family other than the bus. Excellent trip!
