1. Baiae: Visit the Sunken City in a Transparent Canoe
The Sunken City of Baiae, located in the heart of Phlegraean Fields, is one of the oldest archaeological sites in the world. Its history dates back to Roman times, when it became submerged due to bradyseismic activity. From your canoe, explore the nymphs of Punta Epitaffio, which was a banquet room belonging to Emperor Claudio, and discover the submerged remains of trading ports and Roman fleets. Today, Baiae is considered one of the best places for snorkeling and diving in the world. Upon arrival you will have the time to put on the necessary gear and be given some useful tips from your instructor. On shore you will find the transparent canoes ready for your excursion and a professional guide will give you a brief introduction to the history and archaeology of the Park before you begin your sail. Admire archaeological ruins, fauna, flora and volcanic remains from The Underwater Archaeological Park of Baiae, dating back to 2000 years ago, through your canoe. At the end of the excursion you will have some free time to sail wherever you wish.
