From Costa del Sol & Malaga: Caminito del Rey Guided Tour

2. From Costa del Sol & Malaga: Caminito del Rey Guided Tour

Begin your day with a pickup and travel to Ardales. Make a stop at the Venta El Cruce, which is a local restaurant with plenty of typical local products and delicacies. Return to the coach and continue until you reach the northern access point of the Caminito del Rey. Walk through a small long tunnel to reach the natural paths that lead to the entrance checkpoint of the gorges. Receive a helmet and listen to the safety instructions. Your guide will join you and explain to you what you will find during the trek and give you many hints about the history of this peculiar construction.  The Gorge, called Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, is a natural pass across the hills that separate the Malaga coastline from the inlands. The River Guadalhorce flows at the bottom of the gorges, after having passed through the reservoirs. El Chorro means the Spurt and your guide will explain why.  El Caminito de Rey, after many year of total abandonment, is now a rebuilt path that stretches between two gorges or canyons and a large valley. It is safe and comfortable to walk as most of the path is flat or downhill. The route goes in one direction downhill from the north to the south. The bus will be waiting at the exit point. Once the group is on board the coach, you will return to the Costa del Sol and be dropped off at your pickup point.

What people are saying about Province of Málaga

This was a fantastic experience. However, this really is for the adventurous and fit. And you really can't be scared of heights. We had never climbed before, and this was an awesome introduction. The guides were brilliant. Gave excellent instruction and were fun to be with. Highly recommended for those who love a little adventure. Take flexible clothing and a windproof. It can be cold, windy and baking hot all within a few minutes.

The tour was well organized and we had more than enough time in Gibraltar as free time. The quality of the bus (coach) was high.

Great guides, such a fun day, definitely would recommend!! More like climbing than hiking but 11/10 enjoyed it!

Very professional and fun guide, comfy bus and an amazing location to visit!

It was an amazing trip , I would highly recommend it.
