In the territory of Cargeghe, in north-western Sardinia, you can participate in a special trek accompanied by tame donkeys, particularly suitable for families with children or those in search of relaxation. Our local guide will lead you on a walk suitable for everyone to discover the main sites in the area, including waterfalls and domus de janas, sites of archaeological and natural interest worthy of note, completely immersed in the wilderness, where the donkeys will set the pace. Several stops will be made to delve into the history of the place, amidst tales and anecdotes, and at the end of the experience a tasty typical Sardinian aperitif with local products will be served. A particularly evocative tour between relaxation, discovery and fun, not to be missed. Following a pickup from your hotel, depart for Orgosolo for the first stop of your tour. Enjoy some sightseeing in the town while visiting the historical center and the many murals. Your guide will tell you about the history of Orgosolo and you’ll also get to know more about Sardinia's history. Then, continue by jeep as you visit the mountains of the Supramonte. At the top of Monte Novo San Giovanni, you’ll have a wonderful view over central Sardinia and the Supramonte area. Looking over the beautiful forest of Sas Baddes, you will see the highest peaks of the island in the Gennargentu chain of moutains and, on clear days, you can also see the sea. The last stop will be for a typical lunch with the shepherds where all the products by the family in Orgosolo. Taste the classic dishes of Sardinia: pecorino cheese, roasted piglet, boiled sheep, and the Sardinian crispy bread pane carasau. Enjoy your food with some typical cannonau red wine and spirits such as mirto and grappa. You’ll then depart back to the starting point of your tour.

A beautiful experience, between food and tradition, at the Carasau Bread Museum in Orgosolo, in the heart of Sardinia in the province of Nuoro. Located in the center, framed by the characteristic murals that fresco the streets, the museum boasts about two centuries (latest evidence refers to 1848). Remained intact in its beauty and typicality of the buildings of the period. The museum houses the ancient utensils used for the production of the typical bread of Orgosolo: "Su Pane Tostu" (Pane Carasau) and "s’ispianada" (the esplanade). You will try your hand at a didactic activity where you will literally have to put your "hands in dough", to understand the techniques and secrets of bread making in all its phases. The museum is also embellished with a short film featuring three elderly Orgolesi. Finally you will enjoy a delicious tasting of the typical bread accompanied by an excellent cheese produced by the local shepherds and a glass of local "cannonau" wine.

Start the tour with pickup from your hotel in Orosei or Sos Alinos. First, drive to the Su Barone Nature Reserve, in the territory of Orosei, an area known for its spectacular wetlands and beaches. After exploring the natural scenery, head over to the Nuraghe di Osalla Tower which is settled in a strategic position over the landscape and boasts spectacular views. Then, head over to a local farm and meet the farmer. Together, take a walk amongst the vineyards and fields of flowers. During the stroll, get to know the secrets of cultivating and harvesting grapes and learn about how the wine is made.  Next, taste some of the farm products, including Cannonau wine - Sardinia's most typical red wine, olive oil, and honey.
