Quebec City: St-Lawrence River Ice Canoeing Experience

2. Quebec City: St-Lawrence River Ice Canoeing Experience

Discover the magic of St Lawrence River as your winter playground on an ice canoeing experience. Perfect for first-timers, this all-inclusive activity is a great introduction to the historical role of ice canoeing in Quebec. Your experience begins near the boat ramp located around a 15-minute drive from downtown Quebec City. On arrival, you will be greeted warmly by your guide. With the briefing out of the way, head toward the river. Each route is adapted according to the current weather conditions and tides. Canoers (that’s you) will have the opportunity to try both the oars and the crampons (aka “scooters”). You will be alone with your small-group on the river with a view that will leave you even more breathless than the actual ice canoeing. Then, return to the mainland so you can warm up and debrief. Your guide will be equipped with a GoPro camera to capture photos and videos of your activity along the way. Your photos and videos will be shared with you after your outing.

Guides are super knowledgable and gave various explanations on the forest, in addition to showing how to snowshoe. Lunch was good and you get some free time to snowshoe on your own. My only feedback is a logo or something for Quatre Natures on their shuttle bus as it wasn't immediately obvious. Otherwise a fantastic tour and I hope to visit in the summer for canoeing!

ice canoeing as an activity in itself is amazing. however, Julien and his team made the experience so much more magical with their extraordinary service and sense of adventure!! by the end of the day, it felt more like a fun day hanging out with friends! will definitely do this activity again the next time I visit QC and highly highly recommend!!

Our tour guide Allan was great! There is a 1.5 hours gap between the city tour and the ice hotel tour which could be a little shorter.

The drivers were courteous and knowledgeable about Quebec City. I really enjoyed the tour and learning about the city.

Easy to locate pick up spot. Friendly tour guide and informative.
