Full description
If you have always dreamed of visiting Rio then this is the tour for you. Take a tour of downtown and learn a little bit about the city's history with a stop at the incredible Metropolitan Cathedral.  Next stop is Sugar Loaf Mountain. From Urca Hill and Sugar Loaf Mountain, you'll see some great views of Guanabara Bay and Niterói. You'll also see where the City of Rio was founded and where the fights between the Portuguese and French took place. For a break before Christ Redeemer, enjoy an appetizing barbecue lunch. If you are not a meat lover, don't worry, there are plenty of sides and alternative options for vegetarians. After lunch, make your way to Maracanã Stadium where you will take a lap around the stadium and have a short stop so you can appreciate the splendor of the two-time World Cup Finals host. There you will be able to imagine the amount of history that took place since its opening in 1950 when Brazil hosted its first World Cup. Then, take a train ride up the Corcovado Mountain and sit beneath the Christ Redeemer Statue looking down on the marvelous city of Rio. Don't miss the chance to snap terrific photographs.

We were picked-up from the hotel at scheduled time and dropped back at the hotel or another place at the choice of the tourists. Guides were excellent and spoke good English and other languages as required. Lunch was excellent, in a good restaurant, and the food was sumptuous with lot of variety. I highly recommend this tour for all.

The only problem I had with the tour was on Trip Advisor it has said that Sugar Loaf was going to be done last so we could see the sunset. This was not true, Sugar Loaf was the first thing we did, then we had the bus tour which was great. I had told my friend who was living in Rio to meet us at Sugar Loaf during Sunset. I had to use the Tour Guides phone to call her and tell her we already did it and there is no need to come, kind of bummed me out. After the city tour we had lunch (should have ordered the fish, it looked great!) and then went to Corocovado. Fortunately we had a clear sunny day and were able to see the Christ perfectly! Overall the tour was very educational, fun, and I would recommend this tour if you are staying in Rio for only a short period of time like we did (1 week) you are able to see and learn many things.

I would not normally choose this kind of large group tour on a coach, but as I was by myself with just one free day in Rio at the start of a business trip, it was a great option to see the most famous sights easily and safely. Our guides for both halves of the tour were excellent, friendly and with lots of local knowledge. The pace of the tour was good and I never felt rushed, with plenty of time to take photos or just enjoy the views. Lunch was surprisingly good, considering it was at a restaurant that clearly caters almost exclusively to the tour group trade. The only negatives I can think of were that the drinks at lunch (even water) were stupidly expensive - i.e. hotel minibar prices - and that the operator could be clearer about which hotels are in their pickup area, as it turned out that mine wasn't. This wasn't really a problem, it would just have been good to know it sooner. Overall though, a great tour and definitely recommended.
