    Our meeting point is at the City of Samba. The site is a large complex of light brown warehouses, located in Rio de Janeiro’s port region, 200 meters from AquaRio. Come in through the main entrance, located on Binário do Porto Avenue, which is almost in front of the ferris wheel (the Rio Star) and the Cidade do Samba VLT station.  Meet your guide under a smaller tent, in the City of Samba Plaza, the big open area in the middle of the warehouses. Look for the team wearing colorful 'Carnival Experience' shirts. It you are traveling by VLT tram, stop at the Cidade do Samba station By car or on foot use the following search on Waze, Google Maps, UBER or through your Taxi app 'Carnaval Experience' or 'Cidade do Samba' main entrance. If you need to park, parking is paid and on the street at '60 Rivadávia Corrêa.'

    Very nice activity to discover the underside of the Carnival of Rio. The explanations were very interesting and complete, the guide friendly. However, a lack of organization once there (but this is the rule in Rio) and the feeling of having to hurry because the next group is just behind.

    It was an amazing tour, the woman who gave us the tour had impeccable English, and answered all of our questions. We were lucky enough to be able to try on old carnival costumes and take pictures with them! There was a dancer who came to give us a demonstration, and taught us a few dance steps quickly! I loved this activity, it was impressive to see all the scenery ect! In short, I highly recommend!!

    An absolute must to discover one of the core cultural and social events of Rio: I had an absolutely great time on this tour! It was very impressive to discover the organization, the creativity, the engineering and the strong sense of community that make a Samba school, especially one of the best! Prepare to be dazzled by the gigantic floats, the shiny costumes and the intricate dances. This experience also offers a rich insight into the afro-brazilian history and it’s great contributions to the country’s culture. I’m really glad I did this tour, and our guide Cynthia, as well as the organizer Amanda, were just perfect hosts at every step of the way.
