Full description
Let's will visit an abandoned chocolate factory that became a gigantic dream factory when several artists moved there bringing their ateliers. We will play with the duality between industrial brutality and artistic softness, take a trip back in time showing the old machinery, talking about the development of the neighborhood, visiting the artists and their work. We can take breaks for coffee and a meal at the factory's best restaurant, presenting the local cuisine and explaining about Brazilian sweets and savories, their origin and peculiarity. The purpose of this experience is to take tourists to know a very peculiar place, little known by locals and tourists and experience the best of Carioca art and gastronomy. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of visitors has dropped considerably, so I'm working to help popularize the place again. Highlights: Workshops, thrift store, restaurants, Trapiche Carioca, Livraria da Fábrica, which has an 1889 Color Guide that belonged to Pedro II; confectionery, chocolate shop and Café da Fábrica. There are potters, designers, visual artists, booksellers, gastronomes, artisans and a small craft beer factory. Tuesday to Friday - 10:00 to 16:00 Saturdays - 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm It was the first Cholocate and ground coffee factory in Brazil, one of the largest in the country, especially for the production and export of coffee, and for popular icons, such as toffee and Boneco candies, chocolate cigarettes and Café Globo and chocolate Refeição. It has an area of over 15,000 square meters, 6 floors with around 80 working art studios. There are 50 artists and 40 entrepreneurs. A historic place reimagined by artists.
