The guide was very well documented and he really knew how to show you all the hot spots of Rochina. A visit in Rio wouldn’t be complete unless you see also this part of living. English was very good so for those who don’t speak Portuguese will be easy to understand everything.

It was a favela that was said to be dangerous, but the people who lived there, the children who went to school, and the shopping streets were lively, and I was glad to see them. It was no different from slums in other countries. I think some people say it's scary and dangerous.

We were a little weary before this trip. However, Martin our tour guide did a brilliant job. We felt super safe at all times as Martin was extremely knowledgeable and knew all of the local people. Amazing value for money and possibly the best part of our Rio trip. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about it.
