Full description

Travel from Rome to Pompeii in an air-conditioned private bus, accompanied by an archaeologist guide. Benefit from skip-the-line entry and enjoy a guided tour of the ancient city. Throughout the ruins, come across a death cast, a plaster recreation of an unfortunate citizen preserved by the superheated volcanic ash. After visiting Pompeii, drive up the slope of Mt. Vesuvius, (from April to mid-November), one of Europe’s few active volcanoes located in the Vesuvius National Park. From here, take a short hike up to the steaming crater for stunning views of Capri and Sorrento. During the winter season between November and March, Mt. Vesuvius is closed, so your tour will follow the coastline and take you to the city of Naples. Explore the iconic Castle Nuovo, the famous art deco Umberto I Gallery, or simply wander around the monumental Plebiscito Square.

As a first, short introduction to Pompeii certainly ok. Fun facts, nice guide. Although the time and tour in Pompeii could have been longer for me. I would have liked to have stayed a little longer and seen a little more of Pompeii. Climbing Vesuvius in the afternoon was also ok. For this day trip from Rome it is a long drive, 2x3 hours on the bus, but due to the many info and fine intermezzos from our guide on the bus, the time flies by. Unfortunately, this means that time on site is limited. But definitely a very nice experience and nice trip

Amazing experience, it just doesn’t hit you until you actually walk those streets, Pompeii is so powerful and sad. The trek was great but very hot, wear very comfortable shoes as the ground is uneven, I wouldn’t wear sandals. They have sticks to help walk up with, but don’t really Need them. Barbara was our guide and was brilliant, very informative, funny and friendly. The best guide I have ever had. Our driver Antonio was an super driver, getting us easily up those high and tight corners to Vesuvius. Overall recommend this trip highly, so glad we got to do it, despite the burning heat. Get an umbrella for sun block before you go, makes a lot of difference

An amazing experience, loved every minute. The journey is definitely worth it. Would of been nice to have had a little longer in pompei and to climb the mount as it seemed a little rushed. Claire the host was lovely and entertaining but unfortunately the driver was more interested in looking at her than the road, even taking selfies whilst he was driving and cursing and other drivers on the road which wasn't needed. Apart from that, a really amazing experience, would highly recommend.
