An awkward start to our tour, as we missed a message postponing the start time and found ourselves with an hour to kill. This was soon forgotten as Arturo, our guide through the Forum, Palatine and Colosseum, hit his stride. Entertaining and knowledgeable, thought-provoking and funny, he threaded together the bits of Roman history we know into a bigger picture, with fascinating new insights and plenty of 'wow' moments. His enthusiasm is infectious and the 3+ hours just flew by. This guy needs to be on tv! Loved it!

If you want to take a tour of the Colosseum, the Forum, and Palatine Hill, don’t hesitate to book with this company!! It was such an amazing experience. The entire staff at Roman Vacations is SO kind and the small group atmosphere they provide makes everyone feel welcomed and gives the tour such a personal feel. They take time to answer everyone’s questions at each destination and make sure the whole group is having a good time. I couldn’t find parking nearby and was running a few minutes late, so when I finally got to the meeting point, one of their office workers went above and beyond to catch me up by walking me five blocks to the rest of the group so I wouldn’t miss the tour — other companies would NEVER go out of their way like that. Then, once the tour got started, our guide was so informed on the history of Ancient Rome and told us the backstory, fun facts, and hilarious stories about each destination and monument we saw. Knowledge and passion! Throughout our tour of the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and the Colosseum, Mircea showed us ancient Roman history from multiple perspectives. We learned about the evolution of Rome, religion, social classes, and technology/construction. Great for kids and adults. We highly recommend that you book Mircea for a tour when you visit Rome!
