Full description

The Roman countryside boasts plenty of remarkable vistas. There’s plenty to take in on this half-day cycling tour, from the 2,300-year-old cobblestone roads to the ancient ruins and the incredible scenery. After a short urban ride, you will reach the beginning of the Ancient Appian Way and then continue to cycle past ancient tombs and the ruins of an imperial palace. As you ride, your guide will share interesting historical facts that will open your eyes to the Rome beyond the monuments. Leaving the Ancient Appian Way, you will follow the ancient aqueducts through the Roman countryside, where you might feel like you are in the wild side of Rome of centuries ago. After a pleasant ride back, your tour ends with a return to central Rome.

Know before you go

The length of the tour will be 27 kilometers, roughly 70% of which will take place off-road
The level of the tour is intermediate (challenging with an added child seat or child extension)
Wearing a helmet on the tour is mandatory
Infants under the age of 1 year cannot participate in the tour for safety reasons.
Infants aged 1-4 years traveling on a child seat (with a load capacity of up to 55 lbs or 25 kg) can come on the tour free of charge
For children aged 5-8 years, a child extension (child "streamliner") is provided
Children aged 9 and above can ride on an appropriately-sized bike independently (e-bikes also available)
The tour includes some riding in the city (to reach the Appian Way Park, connect with the Aqueducts Park, and return to the starting point)

An all-time trip where you see Rome in a different way. Skilled guide Paola, who was clear and distinct in her communication and we felt safe all the way. Wonderful experience with electric mountain bike, could take the hills as little as nothing. Good timing with the breaks and good stories with pictures about what we saw, among other things. the aqueducts and Via Appia through a large park where we followed the aqueduct buildings. I offered the tour to my 20 year old son and he really enjoyed it! I offered him four tours in Rome and no doubt this is what will be remembered. Liked the guide very much and said it was very easy to keep up. When he did the tour the group was small, which I think gives the guide the opportunity to set a good pace for the tour. I was really surprised by my son's reaction to the activity.

Just a "must do" to see and experience Rome in a completely different way. You come to very different places than the tourist ... SUPER .... Really one of the best things we have done in Rome. We did it on a Sunday (in more than 30 degrees) nice and quiet on the road and the heat we had no problems, was great on the bike. Lisanne, our Dutch guide, was very friendly and told everything very well.
