This special ticket allows you to easily access the complex and visit all the points of interest in around 2 hours with a multilingual audio-guide system. You will begin your visit by visiting the basilica with the cloister and the Treasure Museum, before then proceeding outside the church to the baptistery which is located in the square behind. During the second half of your tour, you will visit the building of the Holy Stairs, which is located on the right of the basilica, and admire the Chapel of the Sancta Sanctorum. You must therefore be the 1st to report to the location of the holy steps. We got an audio guide there. (It's strange that you have to hand in your ID card, that was not even necessary in the Vatican) then we had to cross the road and somewhere else in a different location ... that could have been better explained by means of a map, after 3x wrong and questions we were finally in the right place. We had started in St. Johnin Lateran, but you could just enter there, it was nowhere indicated where we had to report. In the back left was the lady who helped us, it turned out that we could no longer have an audio tour because the person who did that had already left??? She converted our ticket so we could see the location of the holy steps. And we were allowed to look outside in a kind of courtyard. Would have expected more for that 10.00 .. registration point vd Aartsbaseliek might have been smart. We were there at about 2.20 pm...so still on time.

Worth seeing! There was very little going on. Not like any other attraction in the city. The audio guide is interesting. Unfortunately no screen (it's mentioned again and again in the explanations and things that can be seen in the pictures are explained. Too bad!) and the devices don't work properly.

Totally recommended for the price. The system with the audio guide works like "TipToi". Note for obtaining the audio equipment and carrying out the tour: under the canopy of the church on the right is the office for exchanging the booking for tickets. Then enter the church and turn left in front of an exit to get the audio devices by depositing an ID card. After the church, hand in the devices and cross the street with the tickets and enter the sacred steps. Here you get audio devices again. You also have full access to the small chapel on the first floor. After the visit, cross the street again and behind the basilica you have a guided tour through the old baroque church with the equipment. You can then return the devices with the plans to the holy steps. We spent almost 3 hours with the devices. For this amount it paid off in full.
