Really enjoyed the catacombs, being a completely different experience. The staff clearly take pride in what they do and very informative. However, the group we were in was too big - at times it was hard to hear our group leader during her talks, felt very crowded within the catacombs and rushed throughout as the next group were always a room away. Would of loved to have spent more time within the catacombs but theirs a lot of groups waiting to get through

This was a tour of the Catacombs of San Callisto. These were fun, though the guide did suggest that we should have gone to San Sebastian instead. Kids were always taken to the front, which was good for them, but it did mean that those at the back probably didn't hear as much information or get as much time to peruse the different things to see. No photos were allowed inside. The arrival and departure point weren't the same as suggested in the app, but we were let off the bus at the same point where we collected the bus from. On the way to the bus we had a guide, so it took some people a while to work out where they were once the tour ended.

The trip to the catacombs and the visit including the guide were really awesome. We could have roamed through the catacombs longer, but that is only possible with a guide and not on our own. It would be nice if you could arrange a time slot with the organizer in advance so that you could be there for a longer period of time and possibly take a later bus back. The bus driver only spoke Italian (I didn't) so we couldn't clarify that with him - just as a tip. It's a beautiful corner and you can spend a whole day there too. Allow a little time in advance as you have to report to the tourist office and it is very busy, so it can take a long time before it is your turn to show your ticket.
