Full description
Start your tour in Piazza Navona, less of a plaza and more of a grand outdoor art gallery. You’ll learn about the political intrigues surrounding Bernini’s Fountain of Four Rivers as well as some of the artistic in-jokes that he carved into the stone. Going further than the average visitor, you'll descend into the little-known Piazza Navona underground to explore the ruins of the Stadium of Domitian, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover the ancient origins of the now-iconic square and touch the layers that form thousands of years of history. Next, you’ll head into our favorite site in Rome; the 1,900-year-old Pantheon. In the early evening, this marvel from Antiquity is much less crowded than it is during the day, and your guide will take full advantage of the serenity to tell you about the history of the iconic dome. After your visit of the Pantheon you’ll stop off for a scoop of gelato — Italy’s legendary answer to ice cream — included in the price of the tour. Next, you’ll stroll to the iconic Trevi Fountain. Your friendly, expert guide will explain the history and lore of the fountain before instructing you on how many coins to toss in depending on what wish you are hoping to fulfill (throw enough in and you might meet your soul mate!). Finish your evening stroll at the famous Spanish Steps. Classic cinema fans will recognize this as the setting of Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck's legendary scene in Roman Holiday. There's no more fitting spot to end this portion of your very own Roman holiday!

This was an enjoyable tour, and it was helpful having a guide to see some of the main things of Rome like the Pantheon, Spanish steps and Piazza Navona, as well as peeking inside some magnificent churches. It was a lot of fun, I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone still unsure about using a guide.

We were fortunate enough to find ourselves the only people on this particular tour (as other folk hadn't turned up) which meant that the wonderful Tiberio was our personal guide! This lovely gentleman was keen that we were given as much information as possible in order to aid and equip us for the rest of our short vacation. It was a joy to be introduced to Rome by Tiberio who is an encyclopedia of knowledge. We especially enjoyed our time at the Pantheon with its fascinating history and the opportunity to make a wish at the Trevi fountain (especially having learnt that all the coins in the fountain are used to benefit the city). The gelato at the end of the tour was delicious but the special treat really was understanding how to use the city's drinking water fountains 'properly'. We aren't giving the secret away here - you'll have to book with Tiberio to find out!!!! Thanks Tiberio - you are a wonderful chap.

Emma was fantastic! Easy to understand, fun to listen to, great for our entire family! She had such great information, a fun attitude, and was great to listen to. The tour took us to all the great places on our first night there and helped reassure me that walking in Rome would be the best way to get around to see all the sights. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone going to Rome!
