9. Marrakech: Imperial Cities 7-Day Tour
Embark on a 7-day journey to the majestic Imperial Cities of Marrakech. Join a guided trip with accommodation and breakfast included and gasp at imposing monuments, medieval ruins, and mesmerizing waterfalls. Enjoy insightful tours of every location you visit.
Day 1: Arrive in Marrakech. transfer to hotel
Upon arrival, the staff will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Marrakech. You will check in to your hotel.
Day 2: Marrakech city tour
Today's tour of Marrakech begins with a trip to the iconic Koutoubia mosque, home to the minaret which has become a symbol of the city. We then visit the Saadian tombs and the Bahia palace which hosts intricate and beautiful Arabic craftsmanship in the lively souks around Jemaa El Fna square. After lunch, head to Majorelle gardens, where the morning light illuminates the vibrant colors of the architecture, set vividly against the lush green vegetation. Continue to Menara garden for a stroll through the peaceful site.
Day 3: Marrakech to Casablanca
After breakfast, leave Marrakech behind and head to the coastal city of Casablanca. We'll have a day of sightseeing. Walk around the Habous district, where the small squares and narrow arcade streets provide a fine example of contemporary city planning mixed with the maze-like streets of the traditional medina. Visit the Notre Dame de Lourdes Cathedral and the famous Hassan II Mosque to experience two religious epicenters of the city.
Day 4: Casablanca to Fez via Rabat & Volubilis
Enjoy a tour of the old city including visits to the Royal Palace, Ouadaya Gardens Kasbah, and the Hassan Tower Mosque. After lunch, drive to the ancient roman city of Volubilis. Recently listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and dating back as far as AD40, Volubilis is home to some of the most impressive roman ruins in North Africa. We finish the day with a short drive to the medieval city of Fez.
Day 5: Fez city tour
After breakfast, begin your guided tour of the Fes medina, one of the world’s largest walled cities. Visit Foundouk Najjarine, which houses the ‘museum of wooden arts and crafts. Visit the Qaraouiyine Mosque, which is both a university and a mosque situated in the heart of the medina.
Day 6: Fes to Marrakech via Ouzoud Waterfalls
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Marrakech via Ouzoud waterfalls. The beautiful drive will take you up into the middle atlas mountains and along the base of the high atlas mountains. Enjoy a walk down along the cascades, relax to the sound of the falls, enjoy a picnic lunch or visit one of the many cafés and restaurants. After a restful and relaxing afternoon, you’ll head back to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 7: Departure from Marrakech
Your last day of travel will be in Marrakech and you will be transferred to the airport for departure.
