Albayzin and Sacromonte Private Tour at Sunset

6. Albayzin and Sacromonte Private Tour at Sunset

The neighborhood of Albayzin, declared a World Heritage Site in 1984, was the origin of the current city of Granada, still retaining all the magic of its Arabic past. Narrow streets and white houses built at random, the famous Cármenes of Granada. The Sacromonte, located in the Valley of Valparaiso, is a picturesque and idyllic place on the outskirts of the urban center of Granada. It is a traditional suburb of the Granadian gypsies from India, who arrived in Spain in the 15th century. Portrayed with great mastery by the poet Federico García Lorca in his book Romancero Gitano, the gypsies dance the traditional and unique Grenadine Zambras inside their caves. This tour is a perfect complement to the visit of the Alhambra, as it allows us to see how the Arab and Christian culture are intermingled in the city and how beautiful is Granada from the other side. This is a late afternoon and evening tour. Your starting time will always ensure that you reach Saint Nicholas viewpoint by sunset.

I liked the independence allowed by this tour.

I had a great independent tour of the Alhambra. The Granada card was a big help as I like to go on my own, not in a group. The tour company made reservations for me to see the Nasrid palace as well as a good walking tour of the Albaicin and Sacramento neighborhoods. After that I was on my own schedule and with the Granada card I went where and when I wanted. Since I had never been to Granada, this was worth the money for me as it saved me a lot of time and confusion.

I cannot give the 5 stars for the initial scare of leaving us without tickets to the Alhambra. But the way in which they solved it together with the attention, dedication and good work of David (in the cathedral first and in the Alhambra later) and Javi (in the Albaicin / Sacromonte promenade) making views with a lot of info and long duration in interesting and entertaining visits. Thank you. Recommendable. Although the guides would deserve a very up front.
