  • From Bordeaux: Full-Day St Emilion Wine Tasting Tour

    5. From Bordeaux: Full-Day St Emilion Wine Tasting Tour

The wine region of Libournais encompasses much of what is referred to as the Right Bank. Named after its historical capital, the expression Right Bank typically refers to wines from the Pomerol and St-Emilion areas of the Libournais. There are several villages around the region that share the Saint-Émilion name, such as Montagne-Saint-Émilion and St-Georges-Saint-Émilion that are named the satellite appellations. The area is bordered to the west by Pomerol. Merlot is the dominant grape in this area, followed by Cabernet Franc and a very small quantity of Malbec that is tending to disappear. The climate and damper, cool soils of the area makes it difficult for Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to fully ripen and as such is less often used. Depart for the Saint Emilion wine region and enjoy a visit and wine tasting at a famous classified growth Chateaux of the Pomerol or Saint Emilion appellation...

Fantastic tour with a great guide that took us to 3 different spots for a tasting. The tastings were varied to give a great overview of not only the St. Emillion varieties, but also wines from other parts of the Bordeaux region. Definitely worth the price for all the wine and having a driver take the stress out of driving and finding each place.

What people are saying about Saint-Émilion

I was an excellent experience overall. The only blemish on the tour is no fault of the tour operator. The second and third winery guide was not pleasant, especially for the fact that when pouring the wine for the tasting, all 3 kinds, he gave me and my partner less than what he gave the others.

Rémi was the best guide ever! He gave us so much information and always catered his tours to the team that he was taking around. He also spoke excellent English!

Stanislav is a great guide. He knows a lot, takes care of every participant and makes the tour a special experience.

Visit with a quality guide, special mention to Quentin who made us discover the region with passion.

Tour guid is excellent and helpful. We are very happy and enjoy.
