Full description
Take a self-guided tour and admire the Sainte Chapelle, a gem of Gothic style. This self-guided tour makes it possible for you to admire this unique monument and learn it's fascinating history. Get a skip-the-line ticket and a booklet for a self-guided tour. Spend an hour admiring the spectacular stained-glass windows that contribute to make Sainte Chapelle the jewel of the French Gothic. Arranged across 15 windows, each 15-meters high, the stained glass panes depict 1,113 scenes from the Old Testament and New Testament, recounting the history of the world up to the arrival of the relics in Paris. The Holy Chapel story is deeply linked to sacred relics and items such as the Crown of Thorns or the Image of Edessa that were kept there. Having these sacred relics in his possession made the already powerful monarch the head of western Christianity and allowed him to gain power and influence.

It's a beautiful church with a lot of rich history and beautiful art. We enjoyed the space because it wasn't to crowded but it is a small area I can see during peak travel time it being packed and less enjoyable. Came before noon on a cloudy day luckily was able to see the stain glass when the sun peeked out changed the atmosphere of the room.

The cathedral is absolutely stunning! Completely worth the wait in line. Which brings me to my only con, the line. They have a line for online ticket purchases and no tickets and the line for online ticket purchases was twice as long as the no ticket line. Was disappointed we had to wait in a long line after buying tickets that say skip the line but overall worth it because the cathedral is breathtaking!

A small but delightful church in the heart of Paris. Go preferably on a sunny day, and take the time to learn about the history of the building before you go. It is necessary to climb a winding staircase, so it is not suitable for people who have issues climbing stairs.
