Full description
Learn what it's like to live in the Bavarian Alps. Travel along the Königseeache River onto the Obersalzberg, where the leaders of the Third Reich once had their residence. The highlight of this tour is a visit to a 500-year-old salt mine, where you'll first slip into original protective gear before entering. Once inside, you'll learn about exciting, informative, and legendary facts to do with this enchanting, underground world. Use the slides that miners once used to delve deeper into the mine and see what secrets it still hides. A raft trip along the mystical underground salt lake and a trip on the mine railway cap off the informative trip. Before returning to Salzburg, you'll have enough time to discover the Berchtesgaden area more and you could even try one of Bavaria's many specialty food items.

It was a good tour which included a short stop at Berchtesgaden for a coffee break, in addition to the Salt Mine tour which was interesting (but the English audio guide was rather minimal in terms of explanation). The guide had a good sense of humour and kept us entertained. But the price was a little steep for half a day.

    Excellent

The tour was amazing, the guide was very gentle. We ask for food in a restaurant that he suggested us, but the waiter was too slow and we almost lost de bus, but he waited for us to eat what we ordered, and I think it was very kind of his part. Despite of it, the mines were wonderful and funny. We loved it!

The whole family, including the kids, enjoyed the tour. The train and slides were lots of fun. It would’ve been good to get more information. It felt like the information that was given was very rushed and the television screens are difficult to see when standing in the crowd because they’re not mounted up on the wall.
