Las Terrenas: Private Coffee Trail ATV Tour

10. Las Terrenas: Private Coffee Trail ATV Tour

The tour will take you through country roads boarded by cacao and coffee fields, spectacular views over the Samana bay, and local farms. We’ll stop at a classic mountain farm, sharing some time with a family of farmers. You’ll be able to see some of the products they produce and visit their farm, learning about organic farming and plants. You’ll witness the difference between Las Terrenas, a busy beach destination, and the countryside, with its clean air and slow-paced way of life. If you want, the farmers will show you how coffee or cacao is made, from the tree to your table. You can then sip on a cup of coffee or hot cocoa. Don’t worry, if you don’t speak Spanish, our local tour guide will translate everything for you. Next stop is a small beach on the Samana Bay where you can take a dip and cool off for a while. On the way, we’ll pass through many fields, farms, and viewpoints. Most of the trip is on dirt roads, it’s a lot of fun driving the ATV there, up and down, through bumps and holes. If you are not 100% comfortable driving an ATV or if speed is not your thing, don’t worry, you can either drive slow (more time to enjoy the view!) or you can ride with someone, most ATV can sit two people. Driving an ATV is pretty straightforward and even if it’s your first time you should get the hang of it pretty quickly.

We had a lovely, well organized crew with multilingual guides. Roberto and Joaquin spoke German, English, French and Spanish and were very knowledgeable about nature, history and everything. They seemed to be eco-conscious as they had glas bottles only as plastic is no good for the ocean if lost. Plastic cups were used though for the Softdrinks, water and rum which is included in the tour. The visit to cayo levantado was ok-ish; good food but very crowded. Samaná has much more beautiful beaches to offer without the crowds. I‘d prefer a half day trip without the beach in the future.

Everything as described, an experience to be redone for sure, the most interesting and stimulating part is certainly the first, the visit to the caves with the park. Perfect staff and organization, the guide spoke three languages, Spanish, English and French, super nice as well as the captain and his assistant ☺️ Plus point for the bottle of Brugal rum on board. Many thanks for the experience

We loved the experience. Two things we all agreed on: it would have been better to stay longer at the Caída Limón and skip the beach. Also, we would have appreciated to have a ballpark figure of how much tips to bring. And guides most be paid by the ranch in addition to tips

It was excellent… the highlight of my trip. My father love it and the added Photografer Isael was an amazing choice,

nice trip, good organization, Alejandro our guide was great and knows his tour well! can totally recommend it!
