  • San Francisco: Beyond the Painted Ladies Walking Tour

    1. San Francisco: Beyond the Painted Ladies Walking Tour

Your day begins at Lafayette Park, where you’ll meet your small group of 20 people and take in a slew of different Victorian mansions from the outside, including the famous (and jaw-dropping) Spreckels mansion. Pass some of the famous row houses and learn how much money it takes to afford your own slice of a San Francisco Victorian.  Your next stop is the highlight of the trip. Get special access to a privately-owned Victorian mansion that has been lovingly restored and features a private collection of Victorian artifacts and knick-knacks. The tour, which is guided by the home’s owner, is completely exclusive and the experience of a lifetime for any lover of Victoriana. Your final stop is the famous Alamo Square, home to the “Painted Ladies” which you will recognize from television and postcards. Approaching from the very best viewpoint, you’ll be able to take your own postcard-perfect...

Ted, our guide, was very helpful and always ensured we were comfortable with the walking up hills. He gave us various options for the route to view the wonderful houses. Ted’s knowledge was vast on San Francisco, as well as the architecture and history of the many houses we visited.

Excellent tour, covered all the major spots along California coast from Santa Cruz to Monterey to Carmel by the sea with important stops along the coast with appropriate time to take photos. Our your guide Doug and river Jason were pretty amazing and Doug has a thorough knowledge and passion and he was did an excellent job explaining all the important history on the tour. 17 Mile drive and pebble Beach were pretty amazing and beautiful. In Carmel, if you do not plan to shop, consider walking to the beach, it's a 0.5 mile walk slightly tedious walk (considering all the elevations) from the bus stop but it's worth it. In Monterey, aquarium will always be sold out when you arrive unless you dont book it prior, so 2 he is a little long, but considering it in life's lunch stop too, it totally makes sense. Apart from cannery row, consider taking a walk across lovers point trail in Pacific Grove which is just next to cannery row, it's pretty scenic.

SFMOMA is always a treat. We go every time we are in San Francisco. My favorite is Amstel Keivfer and he never disappoints. The museum’s special features never fail to amaze me and I can never leave the venue without a trip to the shop to see their new additions.

I’m handicapped and the big bus was wonderful to hop off take pictures hop back on. We missed the last bus , but was willing to take us close enough to our car in China town. Wonderful memories
