Full description

Here is where the first Cathedral was built, where the first Bishop was sanctified, where the first Governor resided, and where the first hospital opened. The city has a lot of cultural attributes and architectural sites of interest, like nowhere else on the Hispaniola island. The walking tour starts in the historic colonial part of the city, which is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trip includes palaces, forts, museums, churches, and plazas. During the stroll, visit the Palace of Diego Columbus, the first Cathedral of the New World. Walk on Calle Las Damas, the first cobblestone street, and stroll down the pedestrian street El Conde.

Entertaining tour on foot with the highlights of the city

The guide will pick you up at Hotel Villa Colonial on time. You walk through the old town, first over the Conde - the pedestrian street - and then through the most important streets to the Plaza Colon, which is lined with many restaurants. Entertaining anecdotes from the guide about the history and development of Santo Domingo.

Guide was great, the time was accommodated (we wanted it later). The Tour is a lot of Museums and the relevant buildings in the colonial, old Part of the City.

A great experience! From the first contact to the pick-up (personally by Angelo) to the very interesting, entertaining tour with our German-speaking tour guide Jose, everything was great. You can tell the Swiss management (Angelo is Swiss Dominican descent). Any time. Was fun!
