Full description

You can either make your own way to the meeting point or be collected at your accommodation. Board the bus and leave Shanghai. Head to the oldest and most well-protected water village in China. Located 16 miles west of downtown Shanghai, Zhujiajiao water village is 400 years old and is one of the city’s best-kept secrets. Discover the picturesque canals and rivers and admire the large Dian Shan Lake. Take the opportunity to go shopping, take a stroll, and explore this beautiful village. Try some local street food and be amazed by the tastes. You can even practice your bargaining skills at the local shops. After spending three hours taking in the local culture, you will return to downtown Shanghai for approximately 6:30 PM.

the trip was value for money . notice that it is outside of the city if you plan to be close to the city. the trip with the boat is short just to take some good pictures. our guide Roy was very well educated friendly and spoke the English language pretty well .also he helped us for general info except the standard trip schedule infos such us providing us infoa for the nightlife etc..our day was a holiday day so consider that for the heavy traffic

Well-paced visit, and z superb guide

Jamie, our guide, should be given a very big bonus. She was clever, interesting, and the way she patiently handled the 4 obnoxious retards who joined us at the Raddisson was incredible to see. She dealt with those idiots with calm expertise, while still giving the rest of us great information and great value. The tour is well paced. Youll have time to take photos and to admire the place, but you won't be bored. It will seem to have gone in a very satisfying flash, and the place is stunning to see. Even with a lot of people around, it's easy to find your own quiet spot. The boat ride is a nice bonus and with just 4 to a boat you'll have no trouble getting that perfect photo. Well done Jamie, and thank you!

Tour Guide Roy was outstanding. His knowledge of Water Town was extremely good and was able to answer any questions that I asked him in addition to his general commentary throughout the tour. Credit to the tour company also as they proceeded with the tour even though I was the only one booked due to the time of year (December). Roy's communication skills along with his knowledge of Shanghai & China in general made this tour unforgettable.
