At the beginning of the tour, a local representative will greet you and give you an audio guide with headphones. The host will lead you to each spot as you listen to the audio guide for detailed explanations of the castle and its architecture. Shurijo Castle was the center of politics, foreign diplomacy, and culture during the Ryukyu Kingdom. You will see most of the major spots in the castle and its grounds, including the Shureimon Gate, Sonohyan Utaki Stone Gate, Ryuhi Spring, Rokokumon Gate, Kofukumon Gate, Shicha-no-Una, Hoshinmon Gate, Kyo-no-Uchi, and Nishi-no-Azana.
